The Prime Minister of Jamaica and leader of the People's National Party, Portia Simpson Miller is refusing to participate in the proposed National Debates which are customary before a General election. This is as a result of personal and trivial issues with the leader of the opposition the Jamaica Labour Party, Andrew Holness.

The debate is done in order for the electorate to get a better understanding of the plans and policies of both teams in the event they should form the next government. However, the PM is adamant that she will not debate until she gets an apology for a fair statement made by Andrew Holiness.

We, the well thinking citizens of Jamaica would like to hear what the plans are. We ask the PM to put aside the childish behaviour and focus on the country's business. Stop holding us at random while she waits to have her ego soothed.

We cite her refusal to participate in the debates as a STRONG show of disrespect and disregard for the electorate.
