Salsa and Charanga Music deserve more respect and we want the Spanish Broadcast System to give the same frequency of airplay as other genres.

I think another problem is that only a hand full of artist/songs are played by mainstream radio. We need to be clear in petitioning that we want more Salsa music and artist to be featured.

Cuban and Puerto Rican-based music is the best of Latin style music and should be the main focus of these radio stations.

Que viva la SALSA del ayer! I would love to hear all that old Salsa On the radio. It's been missed too long, now is the time to bring it back to the Latino community. In honor of those who have left us and in those who are still with us...BRING IT BACK!!!!

Salsa and charanga music has helped elevate the acceptance and status of our music and culture. Now non Latinos around the world have emabraced this music and the accompanying dance. They have adopted a portion of our cultural lifestyle and incorporated into their own. Therefore this very important music deserves greater airplay.

This is an effort to reinstate traditional salsa and charanga music to the airwaves. It is being done in a respectful manner in the hopes that the station owners will realize that it is better to be inclusive instead of exclusive when it comes to allowing all genres of latin music to be heard and not exclude a segment of the latino community. Our music has appeal not only to latinos but to WORLDWIDE audiences. It is rich in history and we need to preserve it so that we may give it to the next generation of latinos. We owe that to our children !! So please help us in this effort to preserve our culture and music for generations to come.

SBS needs to bring back some of the old music while still being able to stay current! Hopefully this petition will start that spark! Que Viva La Salsa!
