This dog theft seems to be becoming an ‘industry’. I believe the Police need to be more involved as it’s becoming way too organised. Dog owners, particularly of the ‘in demand’ breeds, need to be made more aware of this so they can take extra precautions with the safety of their pets. So called Designer puppies are worth serious money, apart from being beloved family members. Everyone who either has a dog, works in any industry around dogs and other pets, vets, groomers, pet stores, minders, etc. need to make sure they are vigilant around people who may be trying to steal an animal. Also, the SPCA need to work harder trying to close ‘puppy mills’ of which there are many in New Zealand and it could be one reason dogs are taken. Also when buying a puppy, always check out where your dog has been bred. If the breeder is not able to show you the parent dogs and the conditions they live in, then do not buy the puppy as chances are, it’s a puppy mill!

Yes too many are going missing I'm so scared to let my dogs out of my site they are no longer aloud to be ojtside with out me there....Its disgraceful that your own animal's aren't safe in your own yard...
