Dear SJS Board of Trustees:

We, a group of Saint John’s School parents, fully support Mrs. Lorraine Lago as our next Head of School. We all want what is best for our school and our children; she is the ideal candidate. She fixed the curriculum in times of trouble; has the respect of everyone in the school; can handle demanding parents; has a commitment to core values; will be able to supervise and train the next person in charge of the curriculum if she remains in the school; can start her job from day one; has the qualities of a CEO; is humble; her example will trickle down to the faculty and children; doesn't pay lip service in Character Ed classes; tells us what we need to know and not necessarily what we want to hear; and, is a tried true and tested asset to the school.

Mrs. Lago is experienced, prepared and determined to fulfill the Head of School position. She knows our teachers, the students and parents. She has phenomenal plans and a great vision for the future of our school, wonderful moral character, strong family values and true passion for achieving academic excellence.

We, at Saint John’s, are delighted, honored, and really lucky to have an impressive leader such as Mrs. Lago as the potential party in charge of the future of our school. Most importantly, she loves Saint John’s and truly cares about the well-being of our children.

For all these reasons and, indeed, many more, Mrs. Lago has our complete endorsement for the Head of School position. We hope you agree with us.

Sincerely,

I have been hearing from so many of you who see exactly what I see in Lorraine and her vision for our children. The Board is still quiet but your stories about the positive impact she has had on our classrooms show that we are not going to be ignored.

The momentum behind this effort is truly moving because it shows how many of us believe in the kind of future Lorraine can craft for our children. Seeing this level of backing from our community confirms that she is the right person to lead our school through the challenges ahead.

Ms. Lago has done an excellent job in all the positions that she has held at St. John's. Her accomplishments speak for themselves and are documented by objective criteria. There is no better person for the challenging job of leading St. John's than Ms. Lago.

Lorraine Lago has proven her commitment to Saint John's School and to its School Enrichment Model. She knows the school's faculty, parents and culture, so not only understands what needs to be done, she knows how to go about implementing those changes. She is the ideal person to become our next Head of School.

I don't pretend to know more than the rest of us but continuity is important and the two previous headmasters that came from elsewhere did not prove to be as good as Ms. Lago. Our students and we, parents do not want to risk another change in direction at the school. We are just barely getting over the past crisis and want continuity with this direction that Ms. Lago and her team have made.
