Jason Pithie for Norwell Football Coaching Staff 2017

I have never had a more supportive coach, in all my years of playing sports. Mr.Pithie has spent more time and dedication in Football than anyone else. He treats his team like his own family, which makes it even better for him to be a coach. Over a coarse of a 3 year span, our team, led by Mr.Pithie lost only one game in total. If that doesn't show that, Coach Pithie isn't qualified to be a coach at Norwell High, then I don't know what is. Love you coach. Hope to see you on the sidelines Friday Nights.

I want Mr. Pithie to coach.

I support Jason Pithie as assistant football coach at Norwell. Our kids and the program can only benefit from his involvement.

Jason had been an incredibly positive influence on both of my sons and his involvement in the NHS football program would be most welcome.

Jason has been my attorney for over a decade. He always goes above and beyond and is truthful, honest and right to the point fairly. It would be a tremendous shame if the kids loose the opportunity to have him be their Role Model. PC needs to stop!!!! We're creating future adults so they need real people.... Good Luck

Mr. Pithie deserves this position, he would help us significantly and he would fit the spot perfectly.

I have known Mr Pithie my entire life and he is a great man as well as a great coach who has coached me many times before in youth and would be a very important and helpful addition to our Football team

It is my understanding that our High School Football Program is currently experiencing a shortage of coaches for the upcoming season. Mr. Pithie has been very interested in joining the football coaching team and filed a formal application to become a volunteer coach for the program. The Norwell High School programs have benefited in the past from the active involvement of parents to provide enrichment to the programs that are already in place whether it is through donations of time, talent or treasure, all have typically been welcomed by the school and its administration. However, at a time when the Football Program is indeed in need of assistance, the position taken by the Athletic department is to inform Mr. Pithie that his volunteering is not welcomed or needed. My understanding is the objection put before Mr. Pithie by the Athletic Director, Mr. Quigley, is that “some parents have threatened that their child will not play football if he (Mr. Pithie) is placed on the coaching staff”. At no point in the recent past was I solicited for my input concerning whether adding Mr. Pithie to the football coaching team is a negative or positive addition. I believe if all parents whose children are currently enrolled in the football program were given the opportunity to provide input as to whether Mr. Pithie would be a positive addition to the coaching staff the result would be overwhelming yes. One of Norwell School’s core values is “Children First” but clearly the children are considered last in this situation. The children’s experience in the program is placed last, the children’s position in the community is placed last, and most importantly my children’s safety is placed last. The NHS Football team needs as many knowledgeable coaches that are willing to work with the players teaching proper preparation and execution. Give Jason Pithie the opportunity to prove that he would be a positive addition to the coaching staff instead of pre-judging his coaching skills b

My son has played with Jason Pithie for 5 years. He and his great coaches taught Tyler to love Football and made it his passion. I believe that NHS would benefit from an alumni first and his talents and love of the game. I do not understand where this has come from but we support Jason being on the coaching staff.

I have NEVER seen a more dedicated person to to a youth program in my life!! I worked side by side with him on the NYF board. Any child who has an honor of having Jason Pithie as a coach should consider themselves extremely lucky!!!! He would make an unbelievable addition to the Norwell High School Football coaching staff!!! Go get em Jason!!! The Spataro's love u!!!!

Jason is qualified and deserves the opportunity to coach our kids. There is no legitimate reason that a qualified and deserving volunteer should not be allowed to assist the varsity football program that urgently needs coaches. In my opinion, Jason’s addition to the staff is (was) a “no brainer”. The administration’s reasons offered for not permitting his involvement last year, and again this year, are, at a minimum, unfair. Even if some mysterious, squeaky wheel parents exist and have expressed concern or threats regarding their son’s participation, what about the parents that have been supporting Jason’s involvement for more than a year? They have been ignored – and (I for one) wouldn’t dream of making threats with my sons’ participation, which obviously only hurt the boys. Hopefully, as evidenced by this petition, many more parents are in favor of having Jason on the varsity staff to help coach their sons. Respectfully, I would urge Mr. Quigley to reverse the decision and, at least, allow Jason a chance to prove himself to the program’s boys, other coaches, parents, and administration.

Jason has the expertise and passion for this position. Besides being a Norwell native, he is an attorney with a thriving local practice, a great family man and a good role model for the athletes. It is rare when someone is willing and able to put in the time commitment that is needed to volunteer. It would be a tremendous loss for the program and the town to not have Jason as part of it.

The primary issue here is the lack of qualified coaching at the Varsity HS level here. The administration sat on this application for close to a year and then denied it a week before practice is to begin. Jason is abundantly qualified, but that aside, there are no alternatives, qualified or not, to help fill in the staff.

As the head football coach of East Bridgewater High School I am amazed that Norwell only has 3 paid coaches for varsity football. Jason is a good friend of mine who I have been recruiting to come coach with me at EB for years now. He knows the game, loves kids and is committed to Norwell. Doesn't make any sense to me as to why he can't coach at Norwell High School.

Great leader

Providing additional coaches for the football program is critical for keeping our children safe and Jason has the experience to be an assistant coach. He would be a tremendous asset to the football program - he coached my son for years (he will be a sophomore this year) and was an incredible coach.
