Please allow 4 chickens OR ducks to be raised within city limits. Truth be told only a small few will take advantage of this once it is passed anyway. So many didn't want roundabouts and new school built. Make the few who want this happy, please. Thank you.

Residents should be allowed to have back yard chickens and ducks. Raising/growing ones own food is important for many reasons. Ordinances that prohibit these kinds of pets/egg resources/meat are outdated and restrictive with little merit.

Small backyard flocks provide many physical and environmental health benefits to households and neighborhoods. Cardinals and common crows are much louder than hens, and even poorly maintained coops are not so offensive to be a nuisance to neighbors. Unfortunately, the current CF city code is an example of over-regulation of an issue requiring none, written/passed by folks who likely have no experience with small backyard flocks. Other metropolitan areas in Iowa have successfully allowed backyard chickens without any problems. It's time for Cedar Falls to catch up.

Many cities, in an effort to 'go green' and encourage self-sustainability, are allowing residents to keep small numbers of fowl. Cedar Falls should also be part of this movement.

Given that other cities have taken up this stance and it's been managed and monitored just fine, it seems it should be an American right to keep whatever you please in your yard as long as you aren't effecting your neighbors negatively.
