He has never had the intent to offend anyone, only to entertain & have fun. The AMA one performance was so long ago when he was new to fame & didn't realize the double standards that still exists between males & females expressing themselves. He's a worldly, polished performer that has also gained the friendship, admiration & respect of Queen & their fans as a result of the last 4 years of working together.
