This is ridiculous and ignorant. Adam Lambert should be able to perform as scheduled, He is a fine musician and his sexual preferences do not affect his ability to perform, blatant discrimination should not be allowed to prevail.

It is very painful to see that some people in Singapore have initiated such blatantly hurtful discrimination against Adam Lambert and our LGBT friends. I'm glad this counter-petition has risen to save the inclusive and humane values that promote peace and not war.

Singapore is a secular and developed country, and Adam Lambert is a professional performer who would perform according to the performance's criteria and theme. To let the Countdown 2016 be ruled by conservative factions that go against the fundamental values of respect and tolerance that underline basic human courtesy and civilized behaviour is to invalidate such ideas while entrenching an arrogant attitude that diminishes any person who does not fit into the preset perfect mould. This also goes against basic Christian and other religious teachings of showing love for all our neighbours, for we are no higher than any of them in determining what is moral and right.
Besides, if we really hate sexually provocative performances and should think of the kids, why not let Sun Ho perform her secular singles instead? Nothing provocative about that, right?

"Western liberal ideas" does not mean we're not family-centric. Family comes with acceptance and support, and that includes LGBT rights. His sexuality is a part of him but it doesn't define him.
