I'm a christian. I don't see how Adam Lambert can be detrimental to us. Or I don't see how Mediacorp can't handle it to be broadcast friendly.

I am sure he is sensible enough to know that he has to tone down for the occasion. I am not against the rights of religious fundamentals to educate their children in ways that they see fit. But to impose your views at a national level endangers secularism. In your mind, it might be because of you and your religion that blessed Singapore for our prosperity and progress. But the truth is that we had a great first 50 years because of tolerance and respect for every race and religion. We give everyone an opportunity to work and study at all levels, regardless of their religion, race and family background. I am signing this petition to safeguard this aspect of our country's values. No one group should discriminate against another. By the way, for people in the other petition, you should know that this means I am also safeguarding your rights.

This isn't about gay marriage or something else contentious: this is fear mongering about something that he MIGHT do. (Which besides I have no problem with him being gay we're all different and we should respect that )
The moment we start fear mongering and start blamming professionals from carrying out their jobs due to something personal like one's love life (or indeed because of people not liking him instead of not liking his job) we have ceased to be a tolerant and allowing society.

Complete agreement with these statements. Him performing is about his talent and love of music. Discrimination is bad enough, but using it as an excuse to ban him is worse since singing has nothing to do with his sexuality.
