Due to extreme overcrowding in our Stafford County elementary schools, we request a neighborhood school be built in Embrey Mill (EM) as planned.
By signing this petition, we request the Stafford County Board of Supervisors immediately approve the construction of an elementary school in Embrey Mill (Garrisonville District). We request the Stafford County School Board put this back on the agenda and vote for school 19 to be built in Embrey Mill. Our children can then walk to school in their own neighborhood, spending less time on buses and in cars and more time with friends and family. Additionally, this will move EM students out of Park Ridge and other schools and minimize the overcrowding and traffic in those neighborhoods while eliminating the need for modular classrooms.

We are paying a CDC for a bridge as part of the agreement for our community to be built. With the promise of a school being built in our neighborhood. The money designated for such should go towards a school I. Embrey and NOT another location.
Embrey Mill has the density, the land, the proffers and the students. It's time to bring our kids back to the neighborhood and allow Park Ridge neighbors to return to their school. Building at Brooke Point doesn't make sense based on its proximity to students. It's time for Embrey Mill Elementary.
An Embrey Mill Neighborhood Elementary School would decrease the need for the yellow school buses. Children can walk to school and most important, reduces the overcrowding at out of area neighbor schools
The builders used the promise of a school to convince buyers to buy their homes. Now we are here and the schools we have are overcrowded. I only have a toddler but am already worrying about this because the promised school has not been built.
While I love and support the current elementary school where our kids attend, an elementary school in Embrey Mill would benefit Embrey Mill as well as those neighborhoods displaced by Embrey Mill's being bused to a school farther away.
We ask that please build the elementary school in Embrey Mill. This will ensure our neighborhood continues to thrive and will prevent our children from attending a school out of the Embrey Mill footprint, where the potential for violence is higher due to surrounding facilities and businesses.

Before we even moved here it was promised as part of the sales pitch by Kevin from Drees Homes that it was going to be built. We must get a school ASAP! Our kids need it, our Teachers deserve it, and our Community has earned it!
