It is a bad time to implement such taxes, in the midst of a pandemic.

I strongly opposed this GST. We as Anguillians are in no position for Britian to push this down our throats as this time. Our people are not working, food already sky rocket . Will Britian feed us? We have capable knowledgeable persons with vision who can sit down discuss and help us to make short, medium and long terms plans for our home Anguilla. This GST will damage our local businesses that are struggling as we speak. We will see people getting poor this is not what we want for Anguilla. Our young entrepreneurs will suffer also. Let's stand up and save our land, our houses and our tranquility wrapped in blue.

Let us be prudent and reduce our overhead instead of levying the burden on the citizens during this pandemic.

No GST should be implemented at this time as the economy is fragile. Just how the UK government is able to delay further taxes on their economy to assist with their recovery same way they can do the same in Anguilla by delaying GST until we recover from this pandemic. Other sources should be looked into for instance here in the UK we pay 20% income tax and national insurance based on the threshold of income earned. This increases the more you earn.
