The New Orleans Inspector General recently submitted a letter asking the New Orleans Ethics Review Board to remove the New Orleans Independent Police Monitor. We strongly oppose his request! The Police Monitor who is independent of political control by the Inspector General, the New Orleans Police department and Mayor and Council of the City of New Orleans are very important to the future of New Orleans and to healing the tense and often dysfunctional relationship between the community and law enforcement.

Ms. Huston and her staff have worked hard to accomplish a great deal despite being unfunded and undermined by an Inspector General!
