Shelly and her choirs have always been such an inspiration to me. I’ve learned so much by watching her groups in competitions for the past 26 years. She has always been super supportive and friendly. The world of Show Choir is a better place because of a Shelly and Kent.

I was in a different show choir, but always admired Kent and Shelley and the program they built. Now, as a teacher myself, I see all around me the lack of appreciation for the arts in public education. Arts education is essential, and it's a lifesaver for so many.

How often do you have the opportunity to have such a well qualified person to work with your students? The show choir has won many awards as well as you have gotten two people to work with your students for one salary, Shelly AND Kent. Please reconsider your decision.

Shelley and Kent have made a tremendous impact on the lives of the kids at DeKalb High School. And were blessings to work with during my time at DeKalb.

Shelley has changed thousands of lives. Mine included. As a fellow director I look up to her. She is a hard working woman who gave her life to DeKalb and Waterloo. She is a role model for all and excellent musician. She is highly qualified in all aspects of teaching and directing sand she does these things with grace and class.

Kent and Shelley gave a girl with a bright pink Mohawk a place to exist in an Indiana high school. Being the bassist for both show choirs allowed me to remain true to myself while also being a part of something.
