Absolutely need the fair to change it's name and stop using Romani Gypsy culture like a commodity. They need to sober up from their colonial hangover.

I agree with Bob Lovell - it is a misrepresentation of Romani culture. And at the very least, use of these photographs is in breach of copyright laws.

To Whom it May Concern,
As People of True Romany (Gypsy ) Decent we Support Robert Lovell Kamlo's complaint of recent days, addressed to The Auckland Council relative to The Original Gypsy Fair, a registered NZ Business owner , Mr Jim Banks.
We are a race of people with our own culture and request those involved in the above-named fair are misappropriating a culture & race of they do not belong.
They should remove all UK copyrighted imagery from any of their advertising. , We request they consider removing the title "Gypsy" from their registered business name and refrain from using this type of stereotyping of the true Gypsy people .
This is a worldwide petition. Please take note we have Ethnic rights under UN charters and will use all means to have our voices heard via email, media and NZ Govt Departments responsible for Ethnic and Cultural rights.
Thank You and Kind Regards.

I feel very strongly about this, as I'm a Romany Gypsy, also an adviser to the Sussex police here in the UK. and would like to support Bob Lovell, fully in his request to prevent the misleading advertising that these people are using, not only is it not fair to our people, its not right that the Non Romany people that go to the fair should be lied to.

It's absurd to have to create a petition in order to be able to keep a race of people from being robbed of our history!

This is not acceptable. We owe it to our children and future generations to preserve our culture, the real culture not some made up romanticised version of it.
