I have two boys who started playing for GSYHA when they were 5 years old. They have been playing every year since and will be going into the 2018-2019 season as U16 and U12 players. In all my years as a parent, I have never been so impressed and proud of a group of kids. They are incredibly hard working players, who practice and compete with every bit of heart, soul and determination. And I have never seen such an incredibly supportive and engaged group of parents who love this sport as much as the players. In saying that, it would be disheartening for these players who have worked so diligently for years, not to have the opportunity or platform to play other teams at an equally competitive level. Please thoughtfully consider the addition of a High School Hockey Team for these players who have dedicated so much time, passion, perseverance and hard work to this sport. Thank you. Lydia Senn

I absolutely support the addition of a High School Hockey team to the Roaring Fork School district. Grizzly Hockey has been instrumental in the development of my child into a team player.

The time for Glenwood high school hockey is now. I have two kids in RE-1 and Grizzly hockey. Thanks to all for moving this forward.

We strongly encourage RE-1 to have high school hockey. It is a fast growing sport and youth hockey players need this to continue in the sport that they love. Thanks.

I believe having Hockey at the High School level would be a great benefit for not only the kids but the community

We definitely need to offer high school hockey to our kids. My son had to go up to Aspen in order to have thishigher level experience. He played up there for 2 Years. The higher level is what he needed & wanted & it was a good experience in many ways but it would have been more meaningful to stay within his community & traveling at night on Hwy 82 3-5 Times a week was dangerous & nerve wracking. I fully support CHSAA hockey in the RE1 school district!!

Great opportunity to promote the next level of youth hockey for our local hockey players and include the high school and local community. It will be fun and succeed.

Long overdue- too many good hockey players in the Glenwood area have been denied the chance to play high school hockey- Glenwood would be able to field a very competitive team that would challenge for the playoffs every year - the quality of the Glenwood Springs hockey club and excellent youth development programs ensures the high school team would have a steady stream of talent entering the high school program for many years to come.

Having a highschool hockey team would be extremely beneficial to not only Glenwood Springs as a whole, but for young hockey players wanting to excel in the sport. If we don’t have a highschool hockey team, I will cry.

My son has played Grizzly Hockey for the last six years and my daughters for the last two. They absolutely love the sport and the family atmosphere they feel part of. Our family would be thrilled to have Ice Hockey be a part of their High School experience.
