For more than 30 years, the Off-Road-Vehicle (ORV) Community in Whatcom County has been seeking a safe, legal, sustainable area to enjoy our sport. We are asking the Whatcom County Council to support the planning process to make this possible.
We believe a legal, planned, controlled area that the ORV community can take ownership of is a safer and better alternative for the environment and all forest user groups than the illegal, dispersed use currently taking place. We are petitioning the Whatcom County Council to help us in creating a safe, legal area in Whatcom County for the ORV community to call its own.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people have joined this effort since I started it. We are nearing two hundred and fifty signatures and I really feel like this momentum belongs entirely to the community. If you can help us reach that next milestone before our meeting with the council it would mean the world to me.

My son's love going off roaring with their dad! It's a great bonding experience. We go as a family as well, it would be amazing to have a place in Whatcom to do so instead of driving south.
We spend our money in Oregon right now...Would love to not have to spend 100's to drive so far and be able to enjoy offroading more often closer to home. Its a great sport, with alot of great people and having a legal place to go would also help clean up the sport and help to maintain the grounds!
It is important for all user groups to have legal places to recreate. Currently all user groups except motorized users have places to go. Communities all over the nation make it work Whatcom county should be able to as well.
We need to have something like this here in whatcom county. They have a place for Mt. bikes and they don’t even pay to help keep the trails in good shape. Dirt bikes pay for tabs which goes towards maintenance on them so why not have a place for us
I support motorized recreation in a working forest. Whatcom county council, please work with the DNR to keep their planning moving forward. 100% of the concerns you have will be addressed and mediated during the conditional use process.
There should be more places developed for utv/atv riding.
Keep this sport alive. We care about the environment, and want to do all we can to keep areas open to us all.

Off road use is a continuously growing, family friendly sport. The off road community is in desperate need of more public land to support this. Also, those of us who are older and/ or handicapped need motorized access to enjoy our public land because we can't hike.
