He is a hero! He saw a woman recklessly and intentionally ignore three safety warnings and did what he had to do to protect his kids. As a teacher, I see parents driving recklessly in the lot often. I worry about the safety of the kids. He stepped up for them!

I work in a school system, and this is something that happens daily with people thinking they are special.

He did the right thing. He is protecting the students. If she's late that's her fault, she had no right to cut everyone else who is on time. Especially through an elementary school.

We have AMAZING teachers leaving the profession every day b/c they are tired of dealing with RIDICULOUS parents like Rita. It’s inconceivable that this man should be punished for actually CARING about the kids he teaches.

The teacher was doing his job and should not be punished. Myself being a teacher I would ha e done the same thing.

Hello As the parent of an elementary aged student I am shocked and appalled that another parent would disregard safety measures in place to protect children at a school. I am beyond disgusted that the school board in this incident has apologized to the entitled wench who drove around traffic cones and would have run over the 2nd teacher who attempted to stop her if he hadn't jumped out of the way. Yes, he landed on her hood but surely you prefer that to him ending up beneath her still rolling wheels? You have pandered to the ego of a self important, overweaningly entitled person who needs the anger management classes and other consequences she suggests be meted out to this heroic teacher. Stop kowtowing to this loud, obnoxious rule breaker and give Mr. Morgan a commendation and a raise. At the very LEAST you should have come out and supported him publicly. Be ashamed of your cowardly actions and then make it right. After all, you are role models for how many children?

Parents have very little respect for education and it shows in everything they do!

This man is a hero and the news reporting on this story is shameful to speak negatively about his actions. This woman was selfish, disregarded the safety of ELEMENTARY children and disrespected all rules and regulations. Give this man an award!

I am teacher and have bus duty daily, shame on this parent for making her misconduct seem minor compared to the actions of this teacher. If a student would have been injured due to her negligence people would have been saying, “Where were the teachers on duty?” This teacher did his job the only way he could to stop that parent from going through a restricted area.

That may have not been the best action for the teacher to take Only due to his safety issue What how that lady getting so smug and think that she was in the right , as she is speaking about driving around cones that says do not enter And doesn’t believe she should have to turn around and get in line Manage your time better I don’t put authority at risk I fully support the teacher

As a middle school teacher with car line duty, I’ve had to deal with similar situations of ENTITLED parents BREAKING into the line or going past cones. Usually, when I’ve stopped them, the parent pleads “ignorance”: “Oh. I didn’t know we couldn’t do that...” Right. Or they’re just acting “elite”: “I’m late to an appointment. I had to.” Bless this teacher with his “safety-first” mentality.

Teacher is a hero and does not deserve the backlash

The teachable moment is how this teacher went above and beyond for the students at his school. Don’t be bullied by this parent and make the teachable moment about how you should follow the rules and consequences.

Please share with him that we thank him for being a great teacher! Rita should be fined!
