Entitled parents who feel they are the exception because they are late are the problem, NOT the teacher! Her poor planning does not mean it’s the elementary school’s emergency! He should not suffer ANY consequences. His actions might be unorthodox but as a parent who uses the drop off lanes and every single day watches parents who feel exempt from the safety rules, the poor choices of this parent are the cause of this issue. He should get an award and that woman should be reprimanded for the poor parenting example with her daughter in the car. “See honey, this is how you break the rules because we are more important than everybody else and rules don’t apply to us. And if there is a problem we will just call the news or our attorney”. Shame on her and kuddos to him!’

My son may not go to this school but he is a 2nd grader at another Elementary school. If Mr. Morgan were a teacher in his school I would be proud to have him as a member of our school's faculty! He should be honored for what he did to protect the students of his school, even though it put himself in danger!

By apologizing to this woman and disciplining the teacher, you are just telling all these entitled people that it's ok to just keep doing whatever you want to do regardless of anybody else!

As a parent, I can only appreciate the lengths this teacher went to in order to protect the students. I read that the district plans to use this as a teachable moment for both parents and staff. I hope it also serves as an eye-opener that perhaps there may be other strategies that could implemented, like something sturdier than cones, to discourage driving in those areas so that it isn’t all on the teachers’ shoulders. Please extend grace to Mr. Young.

Not only by signs, but another teacher told her not to do this, but she felt entitled. Shameful reporting made her seem like the victim. I think this teacher did the right thing, because those who uphold the law were unavailable at the time. Props to this teacher

Make him pay for the scratches he put on her car and then give him a raise to make sure he can afford to pay for the damage. Good job teacher! We need more like you!

In any scenario this person would at a minimum receive a traffic violation. I have had my foot run over and obscenities yelled at me for asking parents to follow published procedures. Thank you to the 99% of parents who respect teachers and school protocals!!!
