As in educator and a parent I commend this young man for watching out for our kids! Far too many times dropping of my kid and picking them up, I ve seen parents not obey school and traffic protocol when dropping off their kids. It not fair that we teach our kids the proper way to act and we as adults feel the need to not follow the rules. And to top it off she has the nerve to play victim for her neglect for other kids safety. I really hope she given a citation for her actions!

No one is exempt from rules and expectations, not even parents, especially when it's a safety issue

A teacher is expected to protect students, the fact that she continued to drive when he told her no totally justifies his action!

I absolutely support this teacher for being s true caring advocate of our kids and putting himself in potential harms way for our children. It is absolutely ridiculous to me that parents can literally park wherever, go wherever, and have absolutely no recourse despite numerous complaints, yet when one teacher steps in it is his butt in the fryer instead of the idiot woman that doesn’t think the rules apply to her. Set up cameras, hire off duty police officers or get security (or hell even get parents that want to help out) and get some of this chaos under control instead of punishing a teacher for doing what he thought was right. Would the afternative of him NOT doing anything and a child potentially getting hit have been a more desirable outcome? Is this going to now encourage more people NOT to do anything in this type of situation if it means they could get placed on leave or, worse, lose their jobs, for doing the right thing?!

I am thankful to this teacher for thinking less of himself and more for the children in his care.

Good job to this teacher for standing up for the rules and children’s safety. Hoping no action is taken against him for the pettiness of a woman who has complete disregard for everyone but herself!

I have my child study there. He is a kindergartner. He says " Coach Young, you're the best". I completely support what he did keeping in mind the safety of children including mine. So very thankful for jumping in to action to protect your students. Breaking traffic rules in school premises is not excusable. There should not be any administrative action against the teacher who did try to stop the reckless driver who could potentially cause harm to the children!

I dont have kids at this school but I agree everyone should follow rules even if you are late. If STAR testing was i.portant she should have be early not late.

The women was wrong for going the wrong way and for School Safety. That parent could ran over schools on the sidewalk. The did the right thing...

The parent involved in this incident is a poor role model to her children. Her inability to be on time is the root cause and she is at fault. No one else to blame. Set an example for your children and be on time and wait in line just like everyone else.

We need to support those that support and protect our children! I attended Fort Bend Schools as did my children and now my grandchildren!! This parent was wrong and she does not need to be rewarded for her negative actions!!

He should be commended for his actions and the mother punished. She should have compared the supposed behavioral issues of the children she spoke of to her own wreckless behavior. What kind of example was she setting for her children by being late and then acting entitled. It wasn't his fault she was late, it was her own and she needs to take responsibility for that. There was an incident at another school not long ago with a similar situation that did not turn out well and this is probably his reasoning for doing what he did. His willingness to protect the safety of a child is nothing less than heroic, she should be ashamed of herself for threatening to have him fired & the district should be shamed for reprimanding him. This man deserves a raise and a teacher of the year nomination and she deserves to be banned from the drop off lane. She ignored not one but two teachers who told her she could not drive through the cones but she continued. She broke the rules and is teaching her children it's okay to do the same. Educators do too much for too little pay and should not have to deal with this kind of behavior from parents.

He deserves an award! If this woman had done this in a construction site, she would have been ticketed. She is crazy to think because shes late, shes exempt from following the rules. Any discipline should happen to the driver...not the teacher. She could have hit a child with her entitled attitude. How dare she think she should have any priority over anyone else because of her own actions and her own fault of running late. Get up earlier. I'm so sad this teacher is getting lashed out at by the media. He was in the right! Safety over someones time management issues.

KEPP IN MIND THAT THIS YOUNG MAN WAS AND IS THERE FOR THE SAFETY OF THE CHILDREN AND HE SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY ADVERSE ACTION OVER SOME DISOBEDIANT DEFIANT ADULT WHO CHOSE TO SHOW THAT SHE DOES NOT HAVE TO FOLLOW THE RULES OF THE SCHOOL, IF HE GETS FIRED, THEN NOT FOLLOWING RULES WINS...
