As a mother to a child who died, I would HOPE Coach Young was in EVERY-SCHOOL protecting children from someone who was **breaking traffic rules because they were late.** In the US we already have an issue with people driving around buses with flashing ted lights and HITTING children and Rita thought “hey, I an running late and want to cut lines and traffic rules and endanger others, this teacher deserves to be put in job jeopardy.” How often would she run out and stop a car that potentially could hit someone’s child with her body? Are we going to also get upset with cops when they go after someone who decides to go drink and drive and the cops have to chase after them in a vehicle?? “Who puts themselves in harms way to protect others when people are breaking laws and being reckless because it’s more convenient for them?” Coach Young deserves an apology and to spotlight his heroism for putting his life and now reputation on the line for the safety of children.

The driver needs criminal charges pressed against her, and the teacher deserves a raise!

I am teacher myself, who has done car rider duty and this teacher did the right thing! Number one rule for car rider duty=keep the kiddos safe! He does not deserve to be disciplined for his actions!!!

This man is a hero, protecting these children as his own. Rita was out of line and could have easily caused serious bodily injury or death to a child all because she was late and felt the rules did not apply to her. I applaud this man! The world would be a better place with more people like him. He deserves a medal and a pay raise. I wish he were my child’s teacher! Amazing man!

It is his job to protect kids at all cost. If a child had been crossing, we would hope he would throw himself on the car. She needs to obey...period. You are promoting disrespect for authority and disobedience if you get on to him. You should be rewarding him for standing for what is right and protecting children.

This teacher should not have any repercussions lodged against him. The parent Rita Ray did not follow the rules and did not listen to any of the teachers. She decided I will do as I please everything else be damned.

I often saw parents trying to cut the line at elementary school drop off and was worried about the safety of our kids. Thanks, Coach, for protecting the children.

Her problem is not his emergency, nor is it the emergency of any of the other patient and responsible parents in that line. She endangered the lives of children by doing what she did. This dude is awesome.

Support this teacher. Entitled parents raise entitled kids who don’t think they have to follow rules at school or in society. This Mom should be ashamed. If you side with this Mom you you should be ashamed too.
