I love that he stopped her. He probably had to jump on the car to keep from being hit. She used an elementary school as a cut through- she could easily run over a child.

As a parent and employee of a school district, i am enraged that the parent is being seen as the victim here. Day in and day out we see parents bending the rules and being the exception everyday, a sense of entitlement. The rules are there to protect their children as well. Teachers are held liable if they don’t do their job and also if they do it in whatever means necessary. Teachers can’t win. This is ridiculous ! The parent admitted taking a shortcut already being late , seeing cones , passing cones , and passing one previous faculty member. Obey the damn rules. If this were a police officer involved , he would
If issued a ticket.

I support this teacher! This lady that is claiming to be the victim is wrong! Don't be late and you won't have to break the law!

Very disgraceful of the school district. The driver should’ve been charged and arrested, the teacher should be recognized and given thanks for his actions.

This teacher should not be punished. Rita Trimmer Ray should be fined for breaking the school parking rules and potentially endangering a student. I would have done the same thing that this teacher did had I been in his situation.

Teachers are the first line of defense in protecting our children. I 100% support your teacher’s actions. Keep doing whatever it takes to keep our kids safe! If anything the school should ban the parent from the premises based on her own reckless admission to knowing she was in the wrong.

The actions of the mother were un-called for. Her lateness does not excuse her from rules and procedures. He, and apparently another teacher, tried conventional attempts to redirect this mother and she REFUSED to listen. SHE is in the wrong.

I’m an elementary educator and I know the struggle of dealing with parents during drop and pick up. He was not wrong.

My wife, mother and countless other family and friends are teachers. He was bold and right to stop this lady. Shame on the news network to think this is news.

That mom’s “emergency” was no excuse for her to risk the safety of other parents, teachers, and children. Everyone needs to follow the rules, even if you’re running late. I absolutely support this caring teacher enforcing the rules to ensure everyone’s safety!

I FULLY STAND FOR WHAT HE DID....people can not think that they can just do whatever they want to and not follow the rules he was protecting the students
