As a aide with parking lot duties, I have almost been ran over by several parents. I would rather myself be hit then the students. Keep protecting those children. Good Job!!!

Teacher was trying to protect students from people who have no respect for safety or rules. The driver should have charges against her. You pay him to teach and protect the students, he was doing that.

I work the drop off/pick up line at my elementary campus. We have rules & procedures for a reason..SAFETY for all! He did the right thing! Some people only ‘get it’ if drastic measures are taken!

Appeasing one entitled parent at the cost of safety measures for over 700 children is more than “a little much”, it’s completely ridiculous.

As a fellow PE teacher, keep doing what you’re doing Coach Young. We love our students and will do what we need to do to keep them safe.

By “disciplining Coach Young” for enforcing the established rules and protecting the integrity of the safety measures the district/school has put in place for the young kids at Dulles ES, I hope you mean commending, rewarding, and backing this teacher’s efforts. Anything less is unacceptable!

I applaud Mr. Mrgan’s actions!! Had he not stopped the mom and she hit a child, administration would have asked why he didn’t do everything possible to stop her. Also, an article stated that a child had been killed in the same area within the past 2 months. So, I can imagine that is still fresh in their minds, hence the strong reaction!

His actions were commendable and demonstrate his dedication to the children of that school.

He did the right thing. The teacher should be ticketed for going through a coned area

Reckless Rita created a serious safety hazard and should have been cited for her unsafe and reckless disregard for safety. I implore you to limit the consequence to a reprimand, at the most. Had she hit a child, your district would have been facing a lawsuit and you would be pointing a finger at him for NOT acting. He was in a losing situation. #SALUTE to the dedicated teacher!

As a fellow teacher, I am very impressed with Mr. Morgan's actions. He put himself in danger to protect his students. Someone needs to tell this parent that the rules apply to her just as they do to everyone else. Mr. Morgan is a hero, not a villain.

He did exactly what he should! The carpool Mom feel so entitled, she can’t see she was DEFINITELY the one in the wrong!!

Shameful reporting on the part of the news. This lady has a sense of entitlement that is wrong! Good on the teacher for doing his job however creatively to make sure the students were safe.
