The parent was in the wrong and made that very clear when being interviewed. In her haste she could've hit a child or another adult. This man should not be disciplined or terminated for ensuring the safety of the kids.

Adults should follow rules for cutting lines, not just children. Shameful that this man is being punished for protecting children.

This teacher needs to be rewarded for his actions not punished.

I worked the afternoon pick up for 5 years and can tell you horror stories of parents running late, yelling at their kids to RUN through the parking lot to get in the car, only to yell at teachers preventing them from doing so, all to keep YOUR child safe! Praise you coach!

Self entitlement is outragous and Mr Morgan stood up at the moment for every child that was in school, in addition to standing for Rita's children (babies gotta learn respect for rules somewhere even when momma drops the ball!) I'm Rita would have been just as upset to find out about another parent bypassing cones and two staff members to take a shortcut if it were HER child at the elementary school.

Instead of disciplining Mr. Young, perhaps you should publicly acknowledge his commitment to protecting the lives of the students at Dulles Elementary School.

This man was doing what you had asked him to do, protect our children. This is what is wrong with America, people like Rita think they are intitled to jump lines, do what is wrong yet they are the victim. I say hats off to this young man for protecting our children!!!

Please do not fire Coach Morgan due to the parents negligence and irresponsible behavior in #1 bringing her child late to school on test day and #2 clearly disobeying school roadway rules.

I am a proud Houstonian, who was thankful to see one of the few—black male teacher protecting our children. Though it is important to remember safety first. He continues the narrative of educators that are willing to sacrifice their lives and livelihoods for our youth. If anything, that entitled parent should be thankful that it was an adult and not a child on her windshield. The district should continue to support this educator. No less than paid leave, so he can take a much needed vacation.

I commend the teacher for doing everything in his power to protect the children under his care. Shame on that woman for seeking her 3 minutes of fame even though she was admittedly wrong.

As a teacher and a parent I support the action of this teacher and call out this parent for her dismissive behavior.

As a teacher and a parent, I commend you for making sure that the students are safe, even if that means putting yourself in danger. Shame on Rita!
