This woman was clearly breaking the rules. If she had hit a child then what would the school be doing. He was protecting the kids from an entitled woman!

As a fellow educator, I plead with district administration to support this teacher. He was doing the job assigned to him, whether it be in an unorthodox manner or not, he was going over and beyond for the safety of the students. How about asking school officials how many complaints have been made to them about this type of thing happening....I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that multiple complaints have been made and yet nothing has been done to prevent rule-breakers from cutting through the parking lot.

I am also a teacher. No paycheck is worth a child's life. In this case, multiple children. I would have stood in front of her vehicle, called the law, and asked that she be charged with child endangerment.

The worst thing an administration can do is require teachers to protect students and then not support them when they do; especially at a time when the value of teachers willing to put their lives on the line for our children is immeasurable. I am a proud mother of 2 beautiful pre-schoolers and I would be sickened by a system that would protect someone willing to hurt them for their own selfish reasons while punishing a teacher who put the children above himself. Shame on you for not awarding this Coach.

I am a parent who walks my children to school. There's always those parents who think they don't have to follow the rules because of some lame excuse of running late. My kids life is more important than them being on time. Rules are set to protect kids and keep them safe. I bet that was not first for rita.

There is no reason for this man to face any disciplinary action for attempting to stop an outside person from breaking the rules at his establishment.

I work for a school system. All of us feel a responsibility to keeping the children in our care safe. It is obvious that the driver had a lack of safety consciousness toward the elementary students. By her own words, one teacher had motioned for her to stop going around cones, instead she persisted in her wrong doing. She did not stop due to the children's safety, she stopped because a teacher stopped her. If she had hit a child due to her negligence, I'm sure the school system would have acted against the staff on duty for not taking more action as the driver had already put the students safety and lives in danger. This teacher should not have any action taken against him instead he should be recognized for taking action that any faculty or staff member should have done in protecting those students placed in our care.

She's running late and breaking the rules. Teacher is just doing his morning duties. That one parent is not above the rules.

Rita was having a bad day...that could have turned tragic. We have all made mistakes, but Aaron should be commended for his heroic actions...not reprimanded.

I would be proud to have a teacher like this for my children, he did not overreact in my opinion he did what anyone would do in this situation. He is keeping kids safe and the woman breaking the rules has no right to react the way she did, she should be the one getting in trouble.
