Having seen this story and on the news, I am sickened that ANY outlet could make this crazy Rita lady the victim. While probably not the approach I would take, I have on several occasions volunteered at my kids schools and see the same behavior, which has led to parent altercations, even worse. Any adverse action against this teacher will only encourage this poor behaviour. Perhaps training for all involved is the right approach. Personally, If i saw a parent driving over cones through the parking lot, i would have called 911.

Thank you Coach Young for doing your job and protecting our children. Your dedication is admirable. And Rita- maybe you need to re-evaluate the situation and realize you were acting in an entitled manner. Set your alarm earlier if you’re having an issue with being on time. They were telling you to stop for a reason. And had a child been injured in all of this, the fault would have been yours.

As a parent and a teacher that has worked my share of car/bus rider lines-good for you! Parents HAVE to understand the rules about these types of lines. They are there for the safety of the children, not to punish parents in any way. What the teacher showed the child in the car was that he was willing to literally put himself in harms way to protect the students. What the parent showed her child? It’s okay to break the rules and endanger students just to get her way.

Omg this is so extra! That parent was wrong and for the simple fact that when you cut the line you out children in danger. This very thing happened at my kids ole elementary School a few years back and a kid was actually hit by a car that decided to go around the carpool line. This is some media BS! This teacher was doing his job protecting the kids and the rules. That car is not as important as these children's lives! Point blank

As much as they say it was unorthodox I would rather it be against "teacher code" than the safety of a child. The person driving the car was wrong.

I commend the teacher for risking his own personal safety in an attempt to prevent what could have become a tradegy. Parents must be held accountable to follow the rules and instructions given by those in authority. This parent should be charged with disorderly conduct and endangering the welfare of a staff member...

He should be thanked by each parent at his elementary school and given an apology from the mom that choose to break the rules for her convenience.

The "CHILDREN'S" lives and safety are "SUPPOSED" to be the main priority. Not a inpatient, arrogant and ignorant "ADULT" that feels justified to do as He/She pleases. This teacher did what was right .
