He was doing what he is paid to do. Rita on the other hand needs an etiquette class and Time management lesson. Support our teachers.

This is a good teacher, protecting the kids at any cost. The parent should be ashamed of herself.

I stand with teachers who put their own safety on the line to protect our children. Not with parents who feel entitled to break safety rules and choose to endanger children despite warnings. This teacher is a hero!

The parent was completely at fault in this situation, and the teacher is a hero. He was worried about student safely and the parent was worried about her schedule. She didn’t care if she mowed a child down she was worried about herself. This teacher should be awarded a hero. This entire situation is shameful.

This is completely ridiculous. We need more teachers with this level of dedication, I'd love for him to come teach down here in Hattiesburg, MS. He is a treasure. This parent should be ashamed of the entitlement she demonstrated in putting her needs above others in such a nasty-hearted way. This educator was doing his job as a teacher and protector and it is shameful that a petition like this would even need to exist.

I have been dropping my chikdren off at school for over 10 years. I have seen parents like this who think they are the exception to every rule and procedure school have in place to manage traffic and safety. Safety first! KUDOS to this teacher who went above and beyond!

That parent should be ashamed and so should the news media that made HER the victim!

He did the right thing. Protecting children when the parent did not care about anything but herself. We need more teachers like that.

I swear, do NOT reprimand this teacher! Maybe a verbal “slap on the wrist” but that is all. HE was PROTECTING CHILDREN! How can anyone partially defend that horrible lady that tried to drive around cones in an elementary parking lot during drop off!?!? I’m a mom of 2 small kids and I would have jumped on her car too! The tone of this story would be different if a child had died, “Tragedy strikes at an elementary school this morning when a high school parent tried to take a short cut through an elementary parking lot during drop off. Little “enter your child’s name here” was hit by the car when she/he was crossing the street. Luckily one of the teachers prevented any further tragedies by jumping on the hood of the car to stop the mother from trying to get away.”

Very proud of this teacher. He was doing what he is getting paid to do, protect the students.

Thank you sir for taking action and bringing this woman’s inflated sense of entitlement to the worlds attention. She stated in her video that 2 ppl told her not to cut through yet she felt she had the right bc her kid would be late, ugh. You are an amazing example of standing up for the right thing! Somebody raised you right!!!
