Any teacher who is willing to do that for someone’s child deserves an award

When my children were in elementary school I worked as a parking lot crossing guard all thru their elementary years. I have seen so many parents breaking rules because they were running late or some other excuse. I don’t understand why they don’t put the safety of children first! They are teaching their own children it’s ok to break rules and laws! Monkey see, Monkey do! They will remember this when they start driving and follow right in their parents footsteps. Then the parent will have that dumbfounded look on their face when their teen has multiple fender benders or hits a kid... why? Duh....you were their role model, idiot!

I think this guy is awesome. Can't believe he kept his cool and was respectful the way he was. He should be given a medal.

A stand needs to be taken against all citizens who put children's safety at risk. Mr. Morgan was heroic and steadfast in trying to implement safe driving procedures at his school.

This is why teachers are leaving the profession. We are out there trying to do what’s best for our students, and people who feel entitled to break the rules get upset when they are reprimanded. Administration needs the back up their teachers and quit giving into entitled parents!

It appears that this teacher reacted with safety first in mind. A reaction that many parents may have had if we felt our children might be in danger. How was he to know that she wasn’t a danger beyond cutting the car line? Teachers are undervalued and underpaid and yet we live in a world where a teacher will risk their lives to take a bullet for their students, so I’m not surprised that they would jump in front of a car too. As a parent I am appalled that the mother involved felt her wants superseded the safety of the elementary school students and she made a conscious decision not once but twice when she was asked to stop to continue to put the safety of students a distant after thought. This is the kind of teacher who is there for the kids first and foremost. Don’t give him a slap on the wrist buy him lunch and some PE equipment or a whistle and giant flashing STOP sign:). Good luck sir!!!

I am appalled by the way the media is portraying the mother as a victim. This brave teacher did what he had to do to stop a lunatic from putting children at risk.

How can you not support someone who's willing to put himself in harm's way to protect your children?

If there is an example and a standard to be made here, lets give a hefty fine to the entitled mom who broke a law in place to protect the safety of children and all pedestrians. No one would be in a situation to defend this man had she followed rules and regulations as everyone else was doing in the first place. I understand being late; but, I put on my big girl pants and take the consequences for my tardiness. I teach my kids by example and her example says, I can do whatever I want because I am late. To reprimand this man would be a huge and detramental mistake. I agree that he should not have jumped on her car; but, again, he may have also felt he had no other means to enforce the rules of safety that he took oath to do when he became a teacher and he was employed at this school. I could go on and on but I think the 13,000+ signatures speaks loud and clear.

Way to go stopping this mom!!! She could have HIT and KILLED small children or teachers because she was running late. Give me a break. My little girl is in elementary school. If I would have seen this happen I would have given him a hug and a high five. That mom, Rita needs to be held responsible for her actions. It could have been a child on the hood of her car instead of this teacher.

That parent and any other parent like this need to realize what caused him to do this. Cause and effect... come on now. Parents do better!! Show your kids responsibility!

I wish you were our PE teacher!!! Thank you for you daily service (and I mean service because you are not paid enough for what you do) . If one parent does it they all will. As a parent that strives to follow the school rules and work alongside the teachers, I say thank you. Don't let this shake you and don't change who you are because of this!!!

Hilarious how this Liberal world punishes the person who does what most people say they did but didn’t have the guts to do what is right.

This parent was WRONG! And the news is shameful for making her a victim. The school should have never apologized, they need to stand by their educator who was looking out for the students.
