This teacher did his job. He saw a potential threat when a women disregarded not 1 but 2 teachers to turn back around. How was he to know she meant know harm. This is about teachers protecting our children and that is what he did. He deserves our thanks and appreciation not a reprimand and she derserves a lecture and maybe a ticket from the local police. Being late for star testing is NOT an appropriate EXCUSE for complete disregard of a schools security measures especially in light of yet another school shooting on 5/16/2018 thankfully a resource officer was able to stop this student.

As the mom of an elementary school kid who goes through school drop off every day, I commend Mr. Morgan for protecting the elementary school students from the self-centered and dangerous actions of a high school parent who was running late. She had no business driving through there, knew it, was refusing to let anyone else stop her (by her own words), and didn't care about the younger kids because her teenager was running late and she didn't want to wait in line. Her actions were atrocious. Mr. Morgan could be just like one of the amazing teachers at my own child's elementary school in another state, taking care of our little ones and working a stressful car rider line every day. I'm signing the petition, not calling the school, because I know how busy y'all are! Sounds like he's a good teacher. :)

How is Mr. Morgan to know that Rita was not trying to harm the students? He was obviously doing his best to try to protect the students. If someone drove through that parking lot with the intent to harm the students and no one did anything to physically step in the way, then teachers would be the villians too.

If the school district takes any disciplinary action they are only feeding the problem that we as educators (I myself am one as well) are fighting on a daily basis - entitlement of parents, students, and others who think they are above the rule of law and order simply because it's an inconvenience to them. Well done to this teacher!

We’re trying to teach our kids to obey rules and not take the easy route for themselves - why should Rita be different? I hope my kids have a hero like Aaron around when they need one!

She deserves to be fined and should never be allowed in a car on school property, and he deserves a reward and recognition for protecting the children.
