We support Aaron Morgan, Dulles Elementary School Teacher - Protecting Children at the School House

Teachers who put themselves between our kids and dangerous people are typically called heroes and that’s exactly how I see this selfless teacher. This driver was warned by barriers, people, and signage or to proceed but she used her vehicle in a dangerous and unlawful way. This teacher’s actions were selfless and powerful. Bravo to him!

This happens all the time. We wait and follow the drop off line and watch other people let their kids out where they are not supposed to. Then they mess up the traffic line trying to cut into the outflow of cars who followed the rules. Parents should be fined. Give them a $75 ticket for doing it and let that money go to the school!

I have so much to say about how wrong that woman was thinking rules don't apply to her bc she was late. How many cones and teachers does she need to go through for the lightbulb to go off and think.. hmm maybe I shouldn't be going this way. She was selfish and erratic to put children in danger bc SHE was late AND DIDN'T WANT TO WAIT IN LINE. This coach was not at all acting in an unorthodoxed manner. As a mother I am relieved to know that there are teachers like him who would go through to this length to protect his students. He is a hero in every sense he literally put his life on the line for these students.... to me I wouldn't call that unorthodoxed I would call it heroic.

Someone needs to make a point to those parents who refuse to follow the rules...perhaps she gets it now...Go Coach Young!

He is just what schools need , someone who will go out of there way to protect our children and enforce rules. Kids and parents think rules do not apply to them.

Parents feel so entitled. Follow the rules and this would have never happened. You were late so be late, don't have others pay the consequences. Coach Young probably saw so many frustrating things, that he just had enough.

Thank you sir for protecting those kids at your school. You are the hero here.

Sad day when someone gets punished for doing his job.

I am not from the area, but I think this is outrageous. Parents need to follow the rules and set the example for their children. This parent thought she could get around the rules because SHE was late. Plan better, and teach your children to do things the right way. We have lost our ability to properly parent. I wish there more more Mr. Young's in the world.

Keep this wonderful teacher. He most likely saved a life of a child. Don’t let a child’s death be want it takes to enforce the runs of the car line.

You did the right thing.

As a parent, I saw many instances of entitled drivers cutting lines and driving around traffic cones just because they were running late, putting my daughter and her classmates at risk. The parent is at fault here, NOT the teacher protecting his students.

This is complete bs.. had she hit a student and he done nothing, he would be in even more trouble. No win situation, the woman clearly was not stopping for anything, seriously punishment for the teacher?? How ignorant is the district?

Coach Young was right and the person who was wrong, Rita, should be the one ashamed! People never want take responsibility for the wrong they do and want to transfer blame. This teacher should be honored for having the guts to take a stand against people who constantly break rules or feel the rules don’t apply to them. Not to mention that Rita is teaching her child to be a rule breaker what a shame and disservice to her child.

This teacher put his life on the line to ensure the students remained safe as this entitled woman drove through barricades because she was late. He should be rewarded for his heroism!
