The only “teachable moment” this situation brings forth, is to TEACH the PARENT to follow directions laid out by schools. He didn’t do anything wrong.

Proactive teachers protecting students should be encouraged, not punished. The districts response should’ve been to ask for an appropriate legal response to the woman who put her convenience before the safety of children in this school. Had she actually hit a student while he was on her car trying to stop her, he would’ve been acknowledged for his heroism. The media’s disgusting portrayal of someone who would violate school safety procedures for convenience, as a victim, is disgusting. The school not standing by this teacher is even worse.

The coach should be given a bonus. Security of our children is priority one. We have school shootings frequently, and coach may have very well taken the precaution to save our kids lives!! What if she drove through the restricted area to harm others?? You should not kowtow to this driver!! Support Coach!!

The coach should be commended and instead the Sup apologizes to the mom. The sup is a spineless educator/administrator and is part of the problem with our school system. He should be replaced IMMEDIATELY and replaced with someone who backs the employees of the district.

The parent should be held responsible for breaking rules and possibly committing traffic violations. Ridiculous that the teacher is blamed for trying to protect the safety of children. I think we are showing the wrong message to kids by making her the victim. She had no business driving through there.

This teacher is a wonderful example of who we want to be teaching our children! Did you hear the woman say, “Who do you think you’re playing with?” She’s insane! I certainly hope she gets a ticket out of all this. At the very least I hope she comes to realize how foolish she made herself look on TV.

He was protecting the children and if you do not give him the apology then other parents and students will start disrespecting more and things will get worse. There are enough issues in the school system that these teachers get no respect...this man deserves a raise and that parent and child expelled for creating this issue!

Why on Earth would you even consider disciplining a teacher for stopping an entitled lawbreaking individual from entering a restricted area? She repeatedly ignored requests to leave. She already used her vehicle as a weapon to get what she wanted. She endangered lives of children. He stopped her from potentially running over your students. And she thinks he’s overboard for putting his life in danger to protect those kids? She is what’s wrong with society, not him. Grow a spine and stand behind your teachers.

God Bless this teacher...the driver was wrong and should have gotten a very expensive ticket! Teacher should be recognized for his act to intervene and protect the children!!!
