I am a community member who has experienced the benefit of Chris's work and the safe spaces he has created. His work has directly influenced myself, my partner and our children, though jo. Of us are from UWEC. Our friends, our community and our family are direct benefactors of the connections.

I am a graduate of UW EC from 2008. I still travel back to Eau Claire annually just for the Fire Ball! Chris is an integral part of the UWEC family, one that cannot be eliminated or replaced. Please consider reinstating his position for the wellness and growth of UWEC and the Eau Claire community!

Absolutely devastating. This is pure hate as policy.

As a retired social worker I was horrified to hear this position was eliminated. These services and events are needed now more than ever.

I had the pleasure of being a colleague of Chris and Catherine when I worked at the university and my husband still works there. Their dedication and hard work brought so much good. The termination of these roles is heartbreaking.

As a uwec alumni who remembers what it was like for us LGBTQIA students before Chris came to campus, it is imperative that the university not go back. Immediate and full reinstatement of these positions needs to happen.

When I came to UWEC in 2012 I was a newly out of the closet. Q Fest and the Fireball were a shining beacon for a young queer man to find not community but also acceptance in myself.

I am a former UWEC student and I find the elimination of this position to be cowardly and done out of fear of this administration. Now is not the time to back down to bullying and peer pressure. If Chris’ work had taught us anything it is that we are better when all people have a safe environment to succeed.

I have personally attended several Fireballs and have always been impressed by the quality of effort put in from the decorations to the talent hired. I think it is a bad decision not to keep this wonderful man on the UWEC team. Please keep this truly creative & brilliant mind on your campus.

The impact on students and the community has been substantial thanks to the efforts and dedication of Christopher. His efforts have done so much to help students in need that UWEC could not a coma date. To eliminate his position is an enormous mistake by UWEC. You need to reinstate him now. Students and the Eau Claire Community need him. So do you if you want to keep your rating.

Shame on UWEC. As an alum, I will not be contributing one penny toward alumni associations until this abhorrent decision is rectified. I am ashamed to call myself a Blugold after hearing this news. UWEC was the campus that I discovered myself at. UWEC and these groups gave me hope, gave me love, and saved my life. To see a person who protected that discovery removed from their position, to see queer programs being eliminated, to see the performance of those who think they know the needs this campus... I am absolutely disgusted.

This gentleman and what he brings to the table for the students if UWEC and the Eau Claire community is very much needed.

You can't just erase whole people's because of a change in political climate. Stand up for all humans.

UWEC is a leader in diversity. Resist and stay strong by keeping this leader.
