I am appalled and embarrassed that my alma mater is making such detrimental decisions to fall in line with a dictatorship full of hate. I hope donors stand with Chris and withhold their money until he is reinstated.

As an alum and former president of the campus LGBT student org, Chris's mentorship and advocacy for student experience on campus was 100% related to my own retention and persistence to graduation at UWEC. If it wasn't for mentors like Chris, I would not have been able to find my own passion in higher education or have some of the tools I gained to be successful as a professional 10 years after I left UWEC. The work hes done and of the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center were reasons why I was a proud alumus.

As a UWEC alumni I am deeply saddened and disappointed to hear of the changes happening to decrease inclusivity and acceptance on the campus. Representation is important for all of your students and this act flies in the face of university goals. I sincerely hope this decision is reversed!

When I came to Eau Claire in 1986 to develop programs for staff and patients, I was appointed to a blue ribbon panel by UWEC Chancellor Larry Schnack and ECCC President Mark Lewis to conduct a threat assessment for the campuse's gay population and the city's Black population. We found that "gay bashing" and racism were rampant and needed addressing. Though not as great now, due to efforts of UWEC and the City, we have continued to address these issues as they continue to exist. Now is NOT the time, nor is there a legitimate time, to go back to 1986!

I've worked with Chris and Kallie for 2 years now and I was thrilled to be involved in the Fireball event for a third year. When I found out about Chris' position, I was absolutely devastated.
