Mr.Mitch did the right thing far more than our school system did u know I called and was told I care to much about my child from the school system way to go officer mitch we love u and stand behind u

My son is a 1st grader at WOE and LOVES officer Mitch, when I walk into the school and my son sees him he high fives him and talks about everything Mr. Mitch has taught them! He takes the time for these kids, something many adults do not! Removing him is not only affecting his life but all the lives of these kids that have connected with him and that respect him!

To hear that Officer Mitch was removed as our child's resource officer is heartbreaking! So, are we telling our youth not to speak up & warn others of danger? I'm pretty sure he took an oath to serve & protect us...just like those officials who knew at 7pm the night before but said nothing! Thank you, Officer Mitch for doing you job and caring about our communities!

No excuse for this!! An officer looking out for the well being of our children should not be punished but put on a pedestal!! I am a parent of children at Croatan and I applaud his selflessness to inform the parents and students knowing the possible repercussions that could follow because of his actions. We need more proactive solutions and less reactive when it's to late!!

In this time of police scrutiny, it is an absolute outrage that Officer Mitch is receiving any backlash for his actions. He is a good cop, a great human being and an outstanding father. He should not be punished for being a concerned citizen and alerting other parents to a potential threat. Our CHILDREN should not be punished either. All of the parents and children of White Oak Elementary absolutely adore him and I know I feel better knowing that Officer Mitch is there to protect my son as well as the other children and staff. The decision to have Officer Mitch removed needs to be overturned.
