I have two children at Croatan. If I would not have known ahead of time and made my decision to send my boys to school there would of been hell to pay! How dare you take an officer that cares about the children of this county not just about the ones in Wos! With all the hoopla with police and our children seeing the bad don't you think this action of good should be recognized not punished? What are you exactly proving to our kids? I want to say Thank you Officer Mitch although I've never met you...you thought of my children's safety and that sir is being a community hero not a problem! Shame on you carteret county!!

I do not have a child that goes to croaton high but I would rather be prepared for anything like a shooting, bomb treat, etc. Im glad he for warned parents so we have a right to send them to school or to not send them. He was looking out for the students and parents. I am standing ul for officer Mitch.

We could not have a more caring SRO, he should not be penalized for compounding a mistake by the county office. Swansboro had the same invalid threat, yet those parents received a call from Onslow County. Why didn't we receive the same courtesy from our school leaders?

He loves those kids and was doing what he thought was the right thing to do. He is being punished for trying to warn parents of a possible threat at a school who's principle doesn't have a clue at what goes on at his own school.. Shame on you CC BOE!

It is sad that an innocent person is being punished for doing something right as a parent ,officer and citizen of our community. I feel more people should step forward as this amazing man did for all our children

Officer Mitch has taught my children that police officers are kind and caring and not just someone that gives you tickets or shows up when something bad happens. My daughters were HEARTBROKEN when I told them that he is not at WOES right now. He did what he thought was right as a person and what ALL police officers should do-after all, they did take an oath to protect ALL of the people of their community. We love Officer Mitch!!!

Mitch was trying his best to protect the children he cares for day in and a day out, and has come to love unlike our school board and Croatan's principal who continued school as though nothing had happened. I support Mitch 100%
