The school board has officially reinstated Officer Mitch to his position at White Oak Elementary. I am sincerely grateful to the community for supporting this effort to bring him back where he belongs. We will continue to monitor the situation to ensure this transition remains successful for our students.
This petition has been started in support of Officer Mitch Schelinder who was removed as our children's SRO officer at White Oak Elementary School. Please sign to bring back Officer Mitch. We will take the signed petition to the board of education meeting scheduled for Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 5:30. We encourage you to attend, but most importantly sign this petition.
The feedback I have received regarding Officer Schelinder confirms that his presence at White Oak Elementary was valued by many families. I am currently preparing the documentation to present to the board of education to ensure they understand the community perspective.

The level of community support for Officer Mitch has exceeded my initial expectations. This momentum indicates that the parents and neighbors of White Oak Elementary School are firmly committed to his return.

Thank you for letting the parents know and possibly stopping a terrible event. As a teacher I thought it won't happen as a parent I was thankful that I could have a conversation with my child before heading out to school that morning. THANK YOU.

I Imagine this decision was made because of protocol on sharing the information with the public? However, his intention was the safety of children & it appears he is passionate about his job protecting children & we need him to keep doing that job!

My family supports officer Mitch! Without him my son would have continued to endure bullying because of his size. Instead officer Mitch gave him courage and esteem! God bless this man for taking the time to give kids love , hope and courage! He is a hero!

OfficerMitch has been a great asset to White Oak Elementary over the years and personally to one of my daughters outside of the school system. It would be a grave mistake to remove him from his position. I appreciate him and his caring attitude very much!

My nephew attends WOES and I for one think the School Board is more concerned about a few students missing school than a whole school being safe! It should always be SAFETY FIRST! What good is an education if you are in danger folks! Kudos to Officer Mitch!

An Officer should NOT be punished for assisting parents in keeping their children safe. It is the duty of Law Enforcement to assist in keeping the public safe.....not to hide information so that parents cannot make an informed decision.

I frown upon the car tweet county education board. This man was trying to protect everybody at Croatian and if this did turn out to be a real threat then he could've saved so many peoples lives. I very strongly support officer Mitch! The education board needs to stop being so stupid and hire him back.
