I have no faith or trust in the July parliamentary debate on the RIDOUT scandal. As with the debate on the private Lee family squabble, it will be just a wayang offering no insight into the truth, and those involved will not be held to accountabilty.
Hence I
fully support an credibly INDEPENDENT COI to thoroughly delve into the matter.

teo chee hean cannot be trusted to do an independent review. why is cpib not investigating this? is it cos even the fking pm is trying to cover it up? pap can say it it not corrupt but it is just a case of ownself cover ownself. ridout is just the tip of the iceberg. dun forget shady corporations like Business China where pap MPs have been enriching themselves with humongous salaries on top of their mp allowances. we need to find out what other illicit sources of income these mp have for them to be able to splurge on such extravagances like renting gcb albeit below market rate.

Yes an independent committee should be set up and full disclosure of the tenancy agreement to the public asap.

urge the President to convene a Committee of Inquiry! The parliamentary session will not provide answers. Here’s what I said about it in the blog: “Whereas I have no confidence that a transparent complete and fair account of this issue will be presented in Parliament in July, I have no doubt that many MPs will make long speeches taking up the bulk of the Parliamentary session. A few inoffensive and vague questions will be asked by both sides of the house (for faux balance) and then an ad hominem attack will be launched on me from a place where the senior ministers enjoy parliamentary privilege and I have no right of reply. Then we will hear no more.

The difference between what they pay and the market rate should be considered compensation for ministers? Then their salaries should be reduced by the same amounts and these should also be taxable.
