The value of Swan Island Transit Management Association is proven. The challenge is keeping SITMA funded. This will not be accomplished by any one government or company. The desire is to broker support from both business and government, support in the form of dollars. Keeping the Swan Island economic engine is important, and so is the safe and useable access for the workers and commuters who use Swan Island roads. Two cars equal a truck. With over 10,000 workers, building the npGreenway trail will improve traffic flow more than an impossible new road would. A small investment for a huge payoff.. and SITMA needs to be functioning to accomplish that goal

I've been a member of the North Reach Willamette Greenway Alignment Task Group as well as the Alignment Committee responsible for the final recommended alignment approved by City Council. I had a chance to see first hand the important work SITMA does.

Yes! I want to see the npGreenway become a reality and know SITMA 's voice needs to be part of the vision. Swan Island is a critical part of the trail.. SITMA knows better than anyone what is needed. That voice should not be silenced for the lack of a few dollars. City, Port and Metro as well as the Swan Island businesses need to be a part of the funding stream.

Please continue to fund resources to fund the Swan Island TMA which has been an excellent organization contributing to many important alternative routes for people to get to and from Swan Island and around the areas near Swan Island.
