Level 5 biomed is a lot tougher than first year, meaning students are struggling to keep up with the pace of teaching. There is one thing that would improve this - panopto. The video platform enables students to rewatch lectures if they feel like they have missed something or simply want to recap the knowledge. We need panopto. In case you're pessimistic in believing student will not attend recorded lectures that are available on ELP - there is evidence that clearly shows attendance increases when panopto is inducted. The quality of teaching is what influences attendance, not their availability of the material. We need panopto.

The administration has acknowledged the volume of interest regarding lecture recording software. I am currently finalizing a formal proposal to present at the upcoming department meeting to address these specific teaching requirements.

Honestly taking notes while trying to listen is impossible sometimes. Having the recordings would be a life saver for revision later.
Not something we should have to ask for as the local universities around us have this facility. Wouldn't make me skip any lectures throughout the year, but it would help massively for some lecturers who go too fast (which the majority of the time they cannot help) so we could re watch/ listen to the lectures, slow them down and get the maximum out of the lecture produced.
PLEASE get this sorted. Way too many people are struggling to keep up with the Biomed content and this is the only logical fix.
Yes we need it really !! It is so important for our study special for international students though!
I believe this is very true we defo need this to back track and understand the context of the lectures which some students dont understand due to accent barriers and so on

Doing this could also allow lecturers who had to cancel their lecture to present it in their own time, which is a better solution than trying to shoehorn extra taught sessions into already long days.
