Overcrowding is a huge issue for our schools - they were not designed for the number of students they currently hold. This bond needs to be on the 2016 ballot. It is already overdue. We can't wait any longer.

PPS facilities are in desparate need of modernization and other health upgrades. We need to vote on this during the November 2016 election, NOT in May 2017.

With voter turnout so much higher for a presidential election, we MUST get this on the ballot in November. I know we have all lost faith in PPS, but we are on an upswing, with higher than ever awareness and engagement from our communities. This bond money is essential for the success and safety of our students and schools. Portland believes in and needs excellent public education. Get it on the ballot, and let's get it passed!

November makes so much more sense. If we delay the Bond Measure until May, we have lost more than six months, we have lost momentum and several years. Putting a finger in the dike does not accomplish anything. If we proceed on the November ballot, we have a much better chance of having it pass and we can move on to creating a much more positive learning environment for our kids and save tax payers money. Costs are going up each day. We need

YesVember! Never underestimate the love a city has for its children. Earthquake, radon, lead, asbestos, fire hazards from overcrowding? And we want to wait for more info or a lower voter turn out? PORTLAND is a city that cares! We should try now and if needed try again in May. What do we have to lose and we have so much to gain for our city and our children.

PPS board, we need you to stick with the plan we all have been moving toward for the last several years. Delaying it will not make anything better, and will only jeopardize the passing of the measure, which, in turn jeopardizes the health, safety, and space upgrades for our children.

Further study is not needed. We need to act quickly and decisively. We need to hold to our renewal plan and remedy the current environmental hazards due to deferred maintenance as quickly as possible. The risks of putting off the current bond are too great to ignore. We need to go to ballot this election cycle
