The time is now for Portland Public Schools to go out for a capital bond. November 2016 is the best time to do what is right for the health and safety of our kids! Waiting until May 2017 is too big a risk.

Reaching this point feels like a small win in a very long fight. I am exhausted by the constant uphill climb but seeing this momentum keep building gives me the resolve to keep going.

WE NEED THIS. Future Lincoln & other PPS students don't deserve to have things like bathrooms that let in the rain, especially when the buckets used to catch the water from the cieling leak anyways.

I go to this school, so I know firsthand that this bond needs to go through to make this building safe and bring the changes that are necessary.

Window-less storage rooms into classrooms is not ok. The kids have no where to eat, no where to study. We're close to double the enrollment that the building was designed for. We must give the students and teachers adequate space and tools to succeed.

With voter turnout so much higher for a presidential election, we MUST get this on the ballot in November. I know we have all lost faith in PPS, but we are on an upswing, with higher than ever awareness and engagement from our communities. This bond money is essential for the success and safety of our students and schools. Portland believes in and needs excellent public education. Get it on the ballot, and let's get it passed!

November makes so much more sense. If we delay the Bond Measure until May, we have lost more than six months, we have lost momentum and several years. Putting a finger in the dike does not accomplish anything. If we proceed on the November ballot, we have a much better chance of having it pass and we can move on to creating a much more positive learning environment for our kids and save tax payers money. Costs are going up each day. We need to do something NOW!

Further study is not needed. We need to act quickly and decisively. We need to hold to our renewal plan and remedy the current environmental hazards due to deferred maintenance as quickly as possible. The risks of putting off the current bond are too great to ignore. We need to go to ballot this election cycle

Let's make it happen when the voter turn out is the highest.

Our school facilities are dangerously unfit, and November is our best opportunity to ask the community for the funds to rebuild.
