We need Darcy at the Elizabeth Shelter

Pls consider Darvy for the position! She is the most dedicated of all.

Care and commitment is what counts, not an address. Rescues are on the front line and know who does the best for animals in need.

Why would you remove someone who has done so much to save lives of animals left or dumped? I don't get it is your goal to euthanize and not save lives?

Pleas hire Darcy. What difference does it make where she lives as long as she can do the job! The Elizabeth Shelter has been successful as of late BECAUSE of her and the working relationship she has with the current employees as well as rescue organizations.

As a rescue, I took many kittens from the Elizabeth Shelter due to Darcy's advocacy and outreach. She has saved so many animals.

Darcy SHOULD be the choice.

Darcy is an angel for animals and Elizabeth should be BEGGING to have her! Because of HER efforts, more lives have been saved and Elizabeth's euthanasia numbers have been lowered. She not only has the passion, she has the EXPERIENCE that Elizabeth needs!

Darcy is the one for the job!

Darcy is and has been the most important asset to the Elizabeth shelter. She is extremely respected and admired not only by many animal loving Elizabeth residents but individuals and rescues alike outside of Elizabeth across many cities and towns in NJ. She is extremely devoted to the animals and is willing to help or give advice regardless of the hour of the day whether she is at the shelter or not. I have never met a more dedicated person than Darcy. Elizabeth is well known by many for the high euthanasia rates you have had in past years which numbers have improved dramatically since Darcy came on board. She deserves more than being a “contractor” and you should wholeheartedly support hiring her as an ACO. To say that one has to be a resident in order to be an ACO is a lame excuse and if that is indeed your city rules then you need to change them. There are many ACOs in various towns and cities that do not reside where they are employed. To consider a person with no experience is ridiculous when you have someone like Darcy who already knows the job so well and more importantly produces results for the animals coming in there and being rescued and saved. Without her you’ll be back to where you were with those high euthanasia rates that trust me many people watch throughout the state. Don’t bite your nose to spite your face as the saying goes. It’s becoming obvious that City Hall needs newly elected officials who truly do care about animals cause the policies in your shelter are so antiquated unlike any other town I know. It’s the only way to incorporate a change and come up to speed in this day and age like so many other towns and cities. Our town (which previously also had a higher than normal euthanasia rate) did it when people booted out a 2 term mayor and elected an animal friendly Mayor and Council who cares. We now have a no-kill shelter, just implemented a TNR program and no animal leaves the shelter without being FULLY vetted. I am sadden

There is NO ONE else for this position! Darcy has proven herself to be the most qualified over and over again through the years. She should have been hired from the very beginning. The City of Elizabeth should stop with the political red tape.

She helped me find a lost dog his original owner. She’s an asset to the dogs happiness

The town and more importantly the animals of Elizabeth deserve and need Darcy.

Darcy Del Castillo is the voice for these animals. Darcy has affection for animals, concern for their welfare, and find homes for them. with her perseverance, and dedication, Darcy will be a valuable access to the shelter. Please consider Darcy for the job which she deserves.

It's about the animals! Do the right thing. Keep a seasoned employee who knows what they are doing. The animals are priority and should come first!
