I began swimming at Sportspark a few years ago. I have not swum there due to the pandemic and the renovation. Now it seems I will not swim again because of the high fees.

To best serve the community, this facility needs to offer plans which include more income equity and diversity.
Most island residents would not have chosen the long delayed renovation if they knew it would have resulted in these fee increases.

These prices are more than my Equinox and boutique gym prices. How is RIOC more expensive than Crunch, Planet fitness and Lucille Robert's? Who exactly are they catering to? Cornell should open up a gym facility and compete because I'd rather pay Cornell than RIOC. Based on the facilities, I'll go to public or city funded sports facilities over the new Sportpark. NO ADVANTAGE. NO STATUS. NOT A DESTINATION.
