A pool would be a lovely addition to Weed Beach. There must be more people in favor than not and really no reason why the pool is a bad idea. Why not add a feature that will continue to unite our community? This will add jobs and provide a fun experience for existing families and will add an additional attraction for families considering a move to Darien.

As a working mother, home owner and member of the RTM. I think the middle class families and families in affordable housing should be able to enjoy the water in the summer and our children should be able to learn to swim in town. So many of us cannot afford private pools and pool clubs. Low tide and sharp shells keep our kids out of the sound, as well as, regular beach closing a due to rain run off. It should not be decided by the wealthy that live close to the beach and have access to private pools. We are being asked to deal with traffic and zoning changes in Noroton Heights and Downtown that effect us as we leave our homes. A summer pool will only effect traffic on near water a few weeks a year. The creation of a summer community for the middle class of Darien is vital. So many parents and kids feel left out all summer because they can't afford a private pool. It's time to have some benefits for the regular working families in town that's not so exclusive. Our kids deserve acces to an affordable pool to learn the life saving skills of swimming. No matter what our economic background

I haves lived here 20 years and so tired of a few High end properties blocking a pool down at weed beach. We should tally the number of people that swim in the sound on a hot day in July and of course any day after a storm. It's time our town finally added a pool to a ideal park location, Weed Beach.
