Dear Matias, Jennifer and CSR Management Team,

As everyone is aware, this summer we had an armed break-in. The incident occurred late in the middle of the night and resulted in the theft of numerous laptops and a few bicycles. Since then a Closing Checklist has been implemented for CSR's to complete nightly. However this checklist is inefficient in the event where someone (or someones) are present in the building.

On November 8th around 10:10pm, after the stairwell checks, noises where heard in the stairwell near the kitchen. The noises include violent banging and aggressive attempts at opening the door. The individual or individuals (this is impossible to deduce as there are no cameras in the stairwells), continued to forcefully and repeatedly bang at the door for more than 20 minutes.

The fear and terror from an unknown and potentially armed and or dangerous individual(s) lurking in the building, is unacceptable. This puts our wellbeing at risk, mentally, emotionally and physically. The closing staff is nearly entirely female possessing nothing but a pen and dull knives to defend themselves while the perpetrator swings using a sledgehammer, a crowbar, physical strength or any other weapon.

In the summer, the office was empty. This time a female was closing alone. The resulting distress ended in a phone call to a coworker, and secondary phone call to her mother, who drove to the office at 10:20pm so that the employee could complete a Closing Checklist that puts her safety at risk. (At the time of the incident a member or Management was notified via text as well.)

The CSR staff are requesting the bare minimum to have 2 people closing at all times, we understand this would be an increase in financial responsibility in our Customer Service department, however we strongly feel that this is needed.

Below is the signatures as well as accounts, comments or general sentiments regarding the current closing set up from the CSR Team:
