Pls recall: Manny's boxing idol, Muhammad Ali, developed a terribly debilitating Parkinson's Disease after his boxing years until his death due mainly to too many punches he took in the head for many years... Do we want that to happen to Manny? God forbid, NO!!!

Muhammad Ali is Manny’s boxing idol. But we have to remember that Ali developed Parkinson’s Disease in his post-boxing years (it was already starting in his last few fights)… such a pitiful situation to be in, after taking in too many punches in the head over his boxing life. Watch how he pitifully looked like with Parkinson’s disease (click here). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVBC1b2sHMg Does anybody here wish that to happen to Manny?

But this info below is taken from an online article entitled, “What Caused Mohammad Ali’s Parkinson’s Disease”: “Mechanisms do exist through which traumatic brain injury, or TBI, might lead to Parkinson’s. Head trauma can increase inflammation, which plays a role in the disease. Trauma also disrupts mitochondria, cell parts necessary for energy production, and it releases glutamate, an excitatory neurotransmitter that increases energy demands; metabolic dysfunction can play a role in the development of Parkinson’s. Most important, head trauma can lead to a buildup in the brain of a protein called alpha-synuclein. Alpha-synuclein and other proteins clump together to form deposits called Lewy bodies in the substantia nigra, a part of the brain important for movement. Lewy bodies in the substantia nigra are the most prominent biological signature of Parkinson’s disease.”

One punch can change a whole guy's life. The more punches you take, the bigger the risk to you, especially when you are not so young anymore. God forbid.
