We, the undersigned, are students and staff of the University of Wolverhampton.

We oppose the ratification of a decision by Academic Board on September 17th 2012 to move from the University of Wolverhampton's own, self-developed VLE, WOLF, to the open source VLE platform Moodle.

There has not been open discussion and debate of this matter amongst either the staff or student bodies.  We ask for that to happen as a matter of urgency.

WOLF looks good, has all the functionality of other platforms, integrates with our Student Management System SITS, and is easy to use.  In an era of increasing competitiveness in the Higher Education market we are proud of WOLF's distinctiveness.

We do not want to lose it.

The feedback I have received from both staff and students underscores the functional value of our existing platform. I am currently compiling these individual experiences into a formal report to present to the members of the Academic Board.

The level of engagement regarding the future of WOLF has been remarkable. This collective response confirms that the university community values our unique platform and desires a formal seat at the table during these discussions.

ive been using WOLF for 3 years and it keeps everything organized for my course. switching now would just be a huge headache for everyone.

WOLF is so much better than Moodle. I’ve used Moodle at other places and it’s a nightmare to navigate. Keep it as it is.

Moodle is clunky and ugly. WOLF is actually part of what makes Wolverhampton unique. stop trying to make everything generic.

Why change something that actually works? really dont get why they want to fix what isnt broken. leave WOLF alone!

Ridiculous decision. We werent even asked about this. typical admin move making choices without talking to the people who use it every single day.
