As a military member, this place is so welcoming and feels like home! My family and I, including 5 children, absolutely adore this place. It will just be abandoned old lot without the food trucks and the energy it brings! Why ruin something so good? It’s a gem! Keep the pit and the food trucks!

I’ve lived in the area for almost 10 years and remember several businesses trying to make a go in that old gas station. NONE have been successful. I remember when I lived in Phoenix there was a similar piece of land at Central and Camelback. We used to go hit the food trucks on weekends. Most of the food trucks they let use that property eventually turned to brick and mortar restaurants. Tucson has too many buildings that need to be pushed down with a bulldozer and neighborhood blight they should be enforcing. Another good area for food trucks would be a park at Cambell and Grant where they pushed down the old Bookmans. Tucson shut down the idea of that being a neighborhood park. I THOUGHT TUCSON WAS BEGINNING TO BE A PROGRESSIVE CITY.

We live nearby in a great neighborhood and love to support our local businesses, like the food trucks and vendors at The Pit. Tucson City Council has bigger issues they should be concerned about; homelessness, road conditions, city parks and recreation, people hoarding, and most of all, crime. Leave good, honest, hard working citizens of Tucson alone!

The city is being egregiously overprotective and acting against the clearly expressed will of its constituents (which is not a rare occurrence in Tucson and is why Tucson has righteously earned an anti-business reputation). Tucson now has the opportunity to correct some of its misguided policies, and should do so in all haste.
