We demand the resignation of Senator Lynn Beyak and issuance of a formal apology.

I am both appalled and sickened by this person's comments. She has no place in the Senate.

The fact that she can get away with offering a softer gentler side of the residential schools that ruined SO MANY young aboriginal youth is shocking and can not be accepted. She needs to resign or be removed from her position.

Best lines ever: "but dissociation does nothing to correct the evil. Nothing. What happened was ugly, racist, horrifying and will ripple through generations..." she has lost the privilege to be in Senate. On the same day I hear of Richard Wagamese. check your priveledge, Beyak.

A person with these views should not be in a government position, helping make decisions for our country. Insensitive, ignorant and racist views do not belong anywhere in our country, let alone the government.

How can someone so ignorant give sober second thought to anything. She's unqualified, and needs to go. There are plenty of Canadians worthy of the perks and prestige of the Seanate. She is definitely not one of them!

I was shocked that this woman is in the Senate....but then I read who appointed her and it all became clear. Her sick views are mirroring Harper's!!!

Her comments are completely unacceptable. I've lived in a community where you could see the damaging effects of the residential schools. My daughter and I even became indirect victims due to issues my ex (and daughter's dad) had coming from his time in a residential school.

I believe the senator should resign due to going public adding her opinion to residential school history which to me would do more harm than good. The Truth & Reconciliation recommendations are mandatory and in place for myself a survivor and educator to help work on positivity which is challenging. Then along comes the Senator who certainly can add to this cause is now slowing this very important work down by adding a wrong statement hurting our move forward. She should resign, she shows ignorance.were past accepting ignorance and apologies. Mashi'

The insensitivity and ignorance of this woman to our first nations community is mind-boggling and disgusting. She does not represent my Canada and should resign.

I do not think a person with such distorted opinions of this major documented piece of history should represent Canadians period

The Institutionalization of Genocide by our Provincial and Federal governments is appalling. Senator Beyak and other Canadians might need some Cultural sensitivity training, in order to understand the damage that was inflicted. I recognize that members of the Conservative party by their nature are conservative and not open to change but in this instance the perpetuation of the cultural stereotype that the European conquerors liberated the Natives from their backwards ways and ignorance is woefully short sighted.

Senator Beyak needs to resign in the name of justice and the spirit of reconciliation! Imagine, please, if German parliamentarians defended the role of the employees of concentration camps. It's one thing to give credit to the "righteous among nations" but the clergy and government teachers emptied in various residential schools were not those righteous ones. They were instruments of genocide against Canada's indigenous peoples. PM should act in this case if he is serious of truth and reconciliation.

This is disgusting abd she cannot be trusted to see to the welfare of Indigenous communities as she is a white supremacist. Resign and lwt aomeone better actually contribute to the bettering of this noble community.

There should be no place in Canada's governing bodies for ignorance and willful manipulation of truth such as that which Lynn Beyak displayed when defending residential schools. She must be removed from her Senate post.

My advice to you would be to engage your brain before you open your mouth... oh I guess you already did this. You are not honourable; that is not a title you deserve. Leave the Senate.
