Why are they so afraid to let the actual members decide? Just put it to a vote already so we can move forward one way or the other. Enough with the backroom deals.

I've always had the opportunity to vote on union referendums, officers and contracts. The merger initiative is a no -brainer. Everyone votes.

Let's put the force of a majority of our members behind merger. The political climate in WI reminds me of Franklin's admonition. "We must hang together or surely we shall be hanged separately."

I remain deeply upset and disturbed by what I have learned about the process being used to merge these unions. Without question, this is the biggest issue facing the future of the AFT-W, and it is being treated as if were "simply another vote". WE MUST HAVE A REFERENDUM on this vital issue. Moreover, I am thoroughly unimpressed by the lack of information about the servicing that former AFT-W locals would receive under the merger plan and the ultimate cost and value of these services. I am VERY concerned about the unknown costs of the Uni-serve portion of future fees. Cost to our few remaining active members is of huge concern to me and I have yet to see an adequate representation of cost-value of the service plan, especially for the many state employee locals in AFT-W . . .where WEAC has zero history. Additionally, I have yet to see and understand how the retiree chapter would function under the merger plan. There are NO state employee retirees inside WEAC! That sucks! We need more information and we most certainly need a referendum vote! GET THAT VOTE UP AND GOING NOW!!
