The collection of Halal revenue should be taxed, this would then stop the unnecessary paying of this halal fees.

This is a religious excuse for animal cruelty shame on Australia for letting our animals suffer over a religion that worships violence to their fellow human beings and the creatures that have no voice to speak.

Its about time a petition was started and I am so glad I have signed it I hope many more people are sitting up and paying attention to what is happening around the world and in our own country Australia. I want my children/grandchildren/friends children and everyone elses child to grow up knowing they have a choice in what they eat and also they have a choice in free speech and will not be put into jail for speaking out against someone elses god. If our government keeps giving into the halal certifiers before long it wont be just the food we have to worry about.

I completely agree with this petition. I do not believe I should have to buy Halal Certified foods as I am a Non-Muslim. Why is the Government allowing this to happen? They are funding terrorists, and animal cruelty. They use their tax free rip off to buy Mosques, Australian farms, and are laughing about how gullible the Australian Government is!!

Halal certification is for Musloms not Christians, Hindus, Catholics etc. Why should companies and people be paying the Muslims this religious tax money? I find it racist and offensive and inAustralian to be forced to eat this meat and other goods. Halal certification at $27 per head means that the cost is passed on to us. The animals are tortured whilst they die. No more Halal this isn't a Muslim country. Have it stopped.

If 'religious' standards are required, then let those who require the standard pay for it. They should not be profiting from it.

If I wanted to have someone babble a load of religious nosense whilst slaughtering the meat that I will consume, then I would be prepared to pay extra for the perversion. However, I don't and I'm not and I am greatly offended by having this kind of meat saturate our market. It is also against the law of our land (yes, it still is ours) to slaughter animals without a full stun unless the meat is to be consumed by those who have that religious perversion.
